It all began with a game of soccer and a group of girls who had never been asked to play.

we brought a coach, free t-shirts, some soccer balls, and sent the boys away.

The girls ran, laughed, argued over the rules, and asked when they could play again.

That evening at the hotel, we spoke about a question we could not stop asking.

What would happen if these girls had a team, a coach who believed in her, and a reason to show up every week?

Today, Be Brave, Be Girl helps to bring girls from Honduras, the U.S., and Canada together through sport.

And the goal is that the girls who once stood on the sidelines become captains, coaches, and mentors for the girls who come next.

why be brave, be girl?

be brave

Be Brave is what we ask of every girl: to step out of their comfort zone on the field, into the studio, or to the front of the room, even when it feels hard.

be girl

for lasting relationships

We’re not just here for the now. We seek lasting and meaningful relationships and seek partners, educators, community leaders and donors who share this passion.

Be Girl is our promise that she never has to be anyone but herself to belong. Each girl can compete fiercely, laugh loudly, and lead with kindness, all in the same afternoon.

Girls from underserved communities in places like Honduras join sports teams and leadership programs. They build confidence, friendships, and life skills, and they grow into captains, coaches, and leaders.

and the project rests on two pillars of equal weight, and the magic happens when they meet

Girls from the USA and Canada raise funds, train as leaders, and travel to play, and lead alongside local girls. They come home with lifelong friendships, a wider view of the world, and real leadership experience.
